This week's Devstream was all about Boss design (and maybe a few other sneak peeks). Our recent unveiling of the radical and devoted cyber-bearded Nef Anyo in Operation False Profit has naturally raised a few questions as to the status of some other familiar faces, and we're pleased to share some of the progress we've made on the enemies of the Lotus.
Kela De Thaym, the J3 Golem and Tyl Regor all made an appearance, in addition to our dev team giving up some valuable details on our upcoming underwater tileset! If you want to catch the entire livestream, or are interested in seeing a few of our snazzy video reveals, be sure to check out Devstream 51 here.
For now, let's get to the good stuff:
Trial 8 Player Console Testing
Our console engineers are currently working on getting Trials up and running for Xbox One and Playstation 4 Tenno. The extensive nature of this Trial overhaul meant we were not able to ship the content in our previous Console update, but there is a silver lining!
Optimizing the Trial to make sure it works fine on both Consoles has meant taking a look at our system from the ground up. All Tenno, including PC who have seen performance issues in game should see some improvements as a result of these changes.
AMD Issues
We’ve been working hard with AMD engineers to get the crashes that have been making life hard for AMD users. If you're interested on getting more details, or have findings you'd like to contribute (specifically with the latest Catalyst 14.12 Omega drivers) please do so in the following thread.
Nef Anyo
Underwater Tileset
Kela De Thaym
J3 Golem
WF Powers and Invincibility
Nexus App Overhaul
New Syandana Physics
We still have a little more time that needs to be spent programming the updated cloth physics. We thank you all for your patience in seeing these more realistic textures would come to life, and will give everyone appropriate notice once we're ready for release.
What About New Bosses?
With so much focus going into cleaning up our current Solar System we’re not looking to add new bosses into the mix at this time. There are still many characters in Warframe that need a bit of extra love, and features like removing redundant nodes, changing how bosses appear, changing the repetition of Void drops and how our current bosses are assigned drop tables are all a high priority.
One thing we will mention is that our goal is to reduce the current planetary node selection down to approximately 20 more valuable, definable Missions. This of course is going to take a lot of time and careful planning, but it's a goal nonetheless!
