Please note: this article originally stated that the Technocyte Coda would release alongside Warframe: 1999 in December 2024. We at DE have since made the decision to delay this new system until early 2025. The text below has been updated to reflect that.
Warframe's first Adversary system appeared during the emergence of Kuva Liches in 2019, along with the highly desirable Kuva Weapons and Ephemera that could be earned by defeating them. Born from the ranks of the Grineer, the Liches were eventually joined by Corpus-sponsored Sisters of Parvos, whose equally-desirable Tenet Weapons enjoyed a similar level of prestige. At last, in early 2025, the Infested will enjoy an Adversary system all its own: the Technocyte Coda.
Seen for the first time during TennoCon 2024, the Technocyte Coda are unique for their Infested aesthetic. But what truly sets them apart is their musical prowess, owing to the sensational 1999 era boy band on which they're based: On-lyne.
You may know them for their smash-hit, PARTY OF YOUR LIFETIME, available now on your streaming platform of choice! If you're unfamiliar, now is a great time to give them a listen or check out their ultimate fan page to get acquainted!
TL;DR: On-lyne is a big deal, especially in the city-state of Höllvania. The main members consist of heartthrob-next-door Zeke, sugar-punk Drillbit, all-star Harddrive, modern maestro DJ RoM, and golden-boy Packet. Each member brings a unique style to the group, offering fans a perfect fantasy to escape the depressing reality of the Techrot! The Technocyte Coda, however, differs from the Kuva Lich and Sister of Parvos systems in other notable ways.
As with our other Adversary systems, the Technocyte Coda will only be available to Tenno not currently targeted by any previous Kuva Lich or Sister of Parvos. This system is also only accessible within Warframe: 1999 update content.
If you're free from an Adversary and you enter 1999 gameplay, Infested enemies will have a chance to drop a unique item after being killed. Pick it up and bring it to a virus-riddled PC to run the Technocyte-Coda.exe command! Complete a quick Hacking Puzzle to officially run the .exe, and from there, Tenno will continue the process once they’ve extracted from their Mission.
Your Hub will display a "splash screen" with one particular member of the band highlighted front-and-center — along with some pertinent details related to its relevant Customization or Reward. Tenno with an active Coda will find themselves robbed of some Resources at the end of standard Missions, as they would with any active Kuva Lich or Sister of Parvos.
There will be no Weapon Information displayed on the Coda screen, as Vanquished Technocyte Coda will offer a new currency that can instead be redeemed for their powerful weaponry of your choice.
With an active Technocyte Coda, Tenno can hop into any 1999 Mission and confront random Technocyte Coda "band members." Once damaged enough, they'll be vulnerable to your Parazon, which you can equip with special Antivirus Mods to progress further.
Antivirus Mods will be available via a specialized Bounty Mission, featuring Drops from various 1999 era antivirus companies.
When a player has killed enough Coda to get the Antivirus threshold bar to 0%, the Adversary changes its state and flees to the Origin System.
Once an Adversary has fled to the Origin System, Tenno will observe a new Node in Earth Proxima called Technocyte Coda Showdown.
Complete an Infested Railjack Mission to defeat your Coda. You can also battle it cooperatively by stringing together Encores with up to 4x Boss Fights per co-op player in an active Mission with an Adversary that is “Ready” to defeat.
Upon defeating their Coda, Tenno can choose if they want to Vanquish or Convert them. Vanquishing will provide tokens that can be used to purchase specialized Weapons in 1999, while Converting Coda will allow for Tenno to trade said Customizations.
***Weapons will rotate with a Vendor on a schedule similar to Ergo Glast’s Tenet Weapons.***
Tokens dropped from killed Adversaries can be used to purchase one of 10 unique Infested Weapons:
Primaries:
-Hema
-Sporothrix
-Synapse
Secondaries:
-Catabolyst
-Pox
-Tysis
Melees:
-Caustacyst
-Hirudo
-Mire
-Pathocyst
We'll also be releasing three additional Technocyte Coda Weapons beyond this list, so stay tuned for more details!
Please Note: Tokens will be exchangeable in 1999 and Weapons will also be available through a cadence similar to Ergo Glast's Tenet Weapons.

The Techrot is sure to keep you busy while enjoying Warframe: 1999, but stay sharp and hone your skills in preparation for your new Infested Adversaries early next year. You're going to need them.
