A fair warning to all Tenno that have yet to complete Update 18's The Second Dream Quest: this edition of Building Warframe contains spoilers regarding some major plot elements to Warframe's latest PC Update. Read at your own risk!
The Stalker is one of Warframe's most iconic figures -- a frightening menace to Tenno who choose to venture across the System alone, and a deadly threat to unprepared Squads of experienced warriors. As one of the few antagonists in Warframe with a past directly linked to the history of the Tenno, it was only appropriate that the Sentient Hunhow reached out to the ancient assassin for help. Their history together and shared animosity of the Lotus' warriors made an alliance easy, and as a token of their cooperation Hunhow presents the Stalker with armaments appropriate to the task at hand.
But Hunhow's Gift is more than just a set of Armor and a very classy new Weapon. Within the Armor lies a secret to the Sentient's adaptable nature. An advantage for the Stalker to press in battle, and a weakness that the Tenno may exploit.
The most critical element to the Stalker's Pakal Armor is how 'alive' it feels when attached to the Stalker. Formed from the bones of Sentients, the Pakal Armor Set is naturally full of references to the unusual race. Traces of life still cling to the unusual metal, accented by the Stalker's own unique adornment.
Syandana are a cosmetic element the Stalker has never worn despite Tenno having a long history wearing ornate Armor. The Pakal Syandana gives the Stalker a unique look that both mimics the shape of his Sentient allies while providing him with a slight hint of nobility. No longer is he wandering the System blindly. Hunhow has given him a purpose.
While traces of energy give menacing life to the Stalker's new Armor the Greatsword War is more than just a deadly Weapon. Inhabited by Hunhow when used by the Stalker, War's blade radiates with energy in combat. Its brilliance significantly augmented when channeled by a Tenno, taking on the user's own energy colors when wielded in battle.
A deadly looking weapon even before activation, War was a great chance for us to focus the Sentient's unique physiology in a way players may not have expected. One of the best parts of War's design is how color customization can make the Weapon look wildly different from one user to the next.
When assembled on the Stalker, the Pakal Armor -- Hunhow's gift to his chosen assassin -- does more than equip the Stalker with a fancy new set of tools. With the Stalker's undeniable sense of purpose combined with the resources of the Sentients, it's no surprise Hunhow came so dangerously close to permanently severing the bond between the Tenno and their Warframe.
We hope you enjoyed the Stalker's appearance and new Weaponry in PC Update 18's The Second Dream Quest. Let us know what you think in the comments, and keep an eye out for more behind-the-scenes coverage of Warframe in our next edition of Building Warframe!
