Every Warframe has a powerfully iconic design, but it's undeniable that Saryn carries with her a special aura presence on the battlefield. Her image exudes both a powerful self-confidence and a deadly toxic nature, both of which add several challenges when designing her Prime counterpart.

So how do you encompass the uniquely toxic visuals of Saryns design in the typically 'clean' Orokin aesthetic? With a bit of love, and a lot of heart.


The hardest part was finding a way to capture Saryn's nature without making a design that was too visually busy or confusing. The initial concept built up from Saryn's existing design, but it became immediately clear that changes needed to be made to create something that was more distinct from her previously released Deluxe skin.

With that in mind we turned the focus away from obviously toxic and/or floral looking material to something a little more organic. Saryn's abilities target flesh directly, so it made sense that Orokin fashion would highlight her face-corroding abilities. Her feathered boa was given a more organic upgrade, with appropriate accents added to reference toxic glands found in nature.


Her helmet was originally designed keeping the tradition of Japanese Sentai heroine masks, but with a more grotesque twist. We can start to see how these organic elements fit in on this early design, but it's not until Saryn Prime is nearly complete that we can see these organic elements at play. The final result is a Prime Saryn that pays full homage to her beautiful but toxic nature.
