As we approach one year of Cross Platform Save in Warframe, we want to give our Tenno a heads-up that Account Merging will no longer be supported as of January 17, 2025. Worry not — Account Linking will remain in perpetuity for those wishing to participate in Cross Platform Save after this date!
Cross Platform Save offers two ways for players to connect their accounts across platforms: Account Linking and Account Merging. Account Linking is intended to remain in perpetuity, and offers a fairly simple way for players to engage in Cross Platform Save: select a Main Account, and link other accounts to it to be able to access your Main Account across all linked platforms.
Account Merging is a lot more complicated by comparison: only accounts that did not participate in account migrations and were created before November 24, 2023 can be Merged together. Merging combines progress and inventory of both accounts, meaning it requires active developer updates when we release new content for Warframe. As we approach the anniversary of Cross Platform Save’s full release, fewer players are Account Merging meaning it is less necessary for us to maintain this feature.
Thus, we’re retiring Merging as of January 17, 2025 at 11 a.m. ET. Tenno have been given a two-month heads up, so those interested in making use of this feature should have enough time to use it before it is gone!
If you have eligible accounts that you intend to Merge (i.e. created before November 24, 2023, and did not participate in account migrations), please make sure you use this limited-time feature before it is retired in the new year. While Merging is going away, Account Linking will continue to allow you to play Warframe across any platform with Cross Platform Save!
