Techrot Encore: here at last! With the update freshly launched, we’re closing out the 1999 era and what we’ve learned. Now, we look to the future, revealing our new Citrine and Kullervo Deluxe skins, Grineer Asteroid lighting changes, Vor rework and more!

Techrot Encore - Out Now!

Techrot Encore is out; with it, we look towards the future of Warframe!

But how did 1999 begin? We moved towards bringing another era to life and another face to Warframe in a way we hadn’t seen before with Arthur Nightingale.

Following Arthur, we continued to make strides towards introducing more characters with Aoi, Mag’s Protoframe, to be the second revealed. Following this, we unveiled the full Hex Syndicate at TennoCon 2024 (and the ability to cosmetically play as them with the Gemini Skin Collection).

1999 launched in December: We finally met our antagonists, Major Neci Rusalka and Viktor Vodyanoi, found Entrati, saved the Hex (and maybe romanced one) and completed The Kalymos Sequence — wrapping up the story that caught us all by surprise back in 2023. Now, we’ve just released Techrot Encore, which meets your Drifter with four new Protoframes: Flare, Minerva, Velimir and Kaya, alongside the journeys they’ll embark on.

Through all that, we’ve been reading your feedback and bugs as we continue to refine 1999 and Techrot Encore. If you’ve got something to share still, you can find our feedback subforum and bug subforums here!

But as we close out 1999, we sit here and celebrate all who went through this journey with us, and with the release of Techrot Encore, we have yet another "Meet the Cast" article! Take a glimpse, and you might be surprised who joined us in Höllvania!

Truly, we couldn’t be more excited that you’ve joined us on this journey into 1999, and we’re beyond ecstatic to take the next step in Warframe’s future with you all.

Android

We step closer to Warframe on Android day by day with this gameplay reveal from Rebecca Ford! You can pre-register on the Google Play Warframe page to be notified when we launch on Android devices sometime this year.

Additionally, you can opt-in for a future Closed Beta, which will occur (obviously) before Warframe fully launches on Android!

Lighting Overhaul

The Grineer Asteroid tilesets are next on the docket for a lighting refresh! We’re making efforts towards a grim, bleak impression of what the Grineer offers, especially early on in the player experience.

Vor Rework

The Grineer Asteroid tileset isn’t the only Grineer-focused thing getting an update. As we’ve made strides towards improving the New Player Experience, we’re shifting our eyes towards Vor — a key point in any Tenno’s early journey!

Vor’s fight will have a brand-new tile (two, in fact, with a transitionary section), new abilities, and a re-touch of everything Vor offers against the Tenno. His revamped fight is still a work in progress, so please excuse the lack of lighting. Strength to the Grineer!

Deluxe Skins

With Techrot Encore and 1999 wrapping up, we’re focusing our efforts back towards traditionally-styled Deluxe skins!

Citrine Deluxe
